Miachael Jackson Tract

Michael Jackson Tracts.

We got a great deal on some Michael Jackson Million Dollar Bill Tracts the other day and we ordered 10,000 of them. They should be in this week. With the recents death of Michael Jackson we thought it would be a great time to get a bunch of these tracts out. The front of the tract looks like a million dollar bill with Michael Jackson picture and the back has the following text:

The million dollar question: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here’s a quick test. Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything, or used God’s name in vain? Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Have you looked with lust? Will you be guilty on Judgment Day? If you have done those things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. The Bible warns that if you are guilty you will end up in Hell. That’s not God’s will. He sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross for you. You broke God’s Law, but Jesus paid your fine. That means He can legally dismiss your case. He can commute your death sentence: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Then He rose from the dead and defeated death. Please, repent (turn from sin) today and trust in Jesus alone, and God will grant you the gift of everlasting life. Then read your Bible daily and obey it.

We would like to get these out in a short time. If you would like to pass some out we will send them to you for free. Please contact us if you are interested.

We had a great night at U2 as they played at the Georgia Dome. Our group got there about 5 oclock and set up to hand out tracts and witness and preach. I have included a some pics and video of Brother Keith reading the Bible to the fans going in to the concert. It was an awesome night as large crowd of wintessers showed up to witness to the large crowd going in. We stayed untill 11:00 and handed out loads of tracts. We hope and pray someone got saved.

Eternal

Eternal

This past week I had the great opportunity to witness alongside PD and Sherman and Erin. These guys are great encouragers and really have a heart for reaching the lost. It is just a real privilege to be around them all. We had many good witnesses and handed out a great number of tracts to people. 5 Points as always was very busy and filled with people trying to get home from work. I had a great conversation with a Nation of Islam guy named Genius. I asked him to explain his religion to me because I did not really know much about it. I spoke with Genius for a while. One thing I will take away form conversation with him is how hard these guys work at being perfect. They don’t eat this and they don’t do that. I felt very sorry for this guy because he was on a religious treadmill. Our conversation was very depressing because this guy is working so hard for nothing. Genius believes that he can become perfect. I explained to him after a while that the more I look into God’s Law the more I see that my chances for becoming perfect are absolutely hopeless. I sure hope one day he sees it too and cries out for Jesus.
PD and I were chatting in between witnesses and we were think about how cool it that God uses us an a little piece of paper to reach out to someone with eternal consequences. I like many of you have a day job. It is pretty tough and can at times be very stressful. We work by the sweat of our brow. I get a paycheck for that work. I take it to the bank on Friday and cash it. I pay all my bills then I go back to work and the cycle start all over again. It make you feel like a hamster on exercise wheel. I think about the scripture that says store up for yourself treasures in heaven where moths cannot eat and thieves cannot break in and steal. God has given us all the work to store up for ourselves treasures in heaven. I think about those precious souls that read those tracts and repent. It has eternal consequences. I mean think about it. How great would it be to see some guy in heaven who says, “Hey you gave me this little tracts and God used it save me.” How cool would that be. Tracts have great eternal consequences.

Falcon’s Preaching Video

out3out2out1

This past weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to go and evangelize at the Atlanta Falcon’s pre season game against the San Diego Chargers. We were handing out tracts and preaching as the people went into watch the game. One thing that struck me is that as most of these people were going into the game that most of them would not remember the score of this game in twenty years. Many would not remember who won the game in thirty years. That being said all the people going into the Falcon’s game would know for sure in 100 years or so if they were in right standing with God. Every last one of them would know because they would be in Heaven or in Hell. That is heavy thought. All 75,000 people or so will know for sure in a short period of time where they stood with God. Unfortunately most of then will end up in Hell.

Another thought crossed my mind was about worship. I assume that most people will scream and holler and cheer and hug complete strangers in the stadium if Matt Ryan scored a touchdown. However, most people will not even celebrate Jesus from their heart after what he did on the cross. Think about we go wild when someone carries a blown up pig skin across a goal line but when Jesus was scourged, slapped, spit upon, stabbed ridiculed, mocked, pierced with nails and hung on the cross naked there is little cheering. This is the greatest moment in a believers life. Christ was brutalized and crushed for our sins. We in essence win the greatest game ever played. The game for our souls.

As I walked away from the from the Georgia Dome the game started and the crowd inside went nuts. The noise they made sounded like a jet taking off on full afterburners it was so loud. It was very impressive to here that from outside the stadium. I got to thinking wouldn’t it be great one day when I am coming into church that gratitude for Christ would cause the ceiling to come off in the sanctuary.

4 Corners 4 Him

Paul called me to let me know that over 21 people were on the streets witnessing about Jesus. Here are a few pictures from the days out reach. This is awesome. Praise God!!

Just a thought

If you feed a lost person; if you give him something cool to drink; if you put a roof over his head and give him the shirt off your back, but you fail to share the gospel with him; know this. If he dies after you’ve lovingly served him, having never heard the gospel from your lips, he will be warmed and filled as he faces God’s judgment and eternity in hell. Serve people? Yes. But please share the gospel.

img_0069_101A great day of witnessing!! We had about 25 to 30 brothers and sisters hitting the streets and witnessing. We handed out tons of tracts. We were very grateful for the large group of new people who decided to step out in faith and witness for the 1st time. Let me tell you it can be very intimidating to stay the least. However many of the folks swallowed their fear and stepped out to witness about Christ. Please feel free to join us next month for this great witnessing img_0050_10opportunity.

News from the front

What a beautiful day out it was on Tuesday fishing in Atlanta. I was worried that the weather would not cooperate but we didn’t have one drop of rain.

I talked with two girls at the Centennial Olympic Park. I asked them the “Million Dollar Question” as I was handing them the Million $ gospel tract. “If you where to die today where you would go?” The answer surprised me… clear, slow but without much hesitation “Hell”. Now there is one you don’t hear very often. I asked why is that? She said because we are gay. Now that was quite a answer. There was a big Elephant standing in the middle of the room, how do you go around that one… since it was clear that the two where with each other enjoying the evening together.

You witness to gays, lesbians, thieves, adulators, blasphemers, murders the same as to everyone else. Use the law and let it do the work. No need to focus just on one sin, no need to highlight a special sin. We give them the law so they realize what sin is, then we can give them the gospel. Then we can hope and pray that God would do a work on them and show them who He is and what great thing He has done for His creation for His glory!

The Supreme Motivation for Missions

John R. W. Stott“If God desires every knee to bow to Jesus and every tongue to confess Him, so should we. We should be ‘jealous’ for the honor of His name—troubled when it remains unknown, hurt when it is ignored, indignant when it is blasphemed, and all the time anxious and determined that it shall be given the honor and glory which are due to it.

The highest of all missionary motives is neither obedience to the Great Commission (important as that is), nor love for sinners who are alienated and perishing (strong as that incentive is, especially when we contemplate the wrath of God), but rather zeal—burning and passionate zeal—for the glory of Jesus Christ.

Only one imperialism is Christian, and that is concern for His Imperial Majesty Jesus Christ, and for the glory of his empire or kingdom. Before this supreme goal of the Christian mission, all unworthy motives wither and die.”

8 Reasons I don’t share my faith

HD-SN-99-02296Are times looking tough? You better believe it.  Flip on the news for a moments and it looks like the world is about to rip apart. We see many friends and family member who do not have jobs. Our economy is  in a massive slump. We see the US losing it predominace in the world. North Korea launching missles that could provoke a war. You hear fellow Christians talking about the antichrist and the return of Christ. So with all these things it really makes you take time to wonder what in the world is going on.  Well Brothers and Sisters let me encourage you with a few scriptures. Matthew 6:31 says “

31.So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32.For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33.But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

34.Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own

Awesome word. Jesus says not to worry. Think about it, if he says we should do it.  When I really think about  when we worry we are really saying in that God cannot provide for me. Even though he says he will take care of us many of us doubt him. Wow.

Will he help us during our tough times? Yes.

When North Korea launches a missle will he take care of us? Yes

How about the end times will he take care of us? Yes

Will he save us? Yes

It is always yes. He will always provide for us. PLease  Lord Help us to trust you when we get worried.

On The Steets

tnt1Nine of us hit the streets this past Tuesday night to witness and hand out tracts. The weather was great and we had many many great witnesses. We had a chance to speak to a girl at McDonalds. She was pretty sure she was heading for Hell and was quote concerned about it. So we had the opportunity to tell her how to be saved.
We then spoke with a fellow who was living on the streets. We spoke to him for over an hour about the deity of Christ and that if he did not have the Son that he he did not have the Father. I was shown this scripture a few months ago and it is very powerful in witnessing to someone who does not believe Jesus is God. It says.

1 John 2:21-23

I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son. 23No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.”

This man realized that he had broken God’s Law and deserved Hell but he did not believe that Jesus was God. We had a long talk with him and shared much truth with this guy.

News from the front

5cornersThis was a fascinating story this past weekend I was at conference and there was about 100 people that had come down to the Super Bowl to witness and to get some get teaching from some preachers that were at the conference. There was a preacher there named Al Whitenhill and he did a survey with the people in the room. He wanted to see the way that people come to Christ. He asked the room full of people four questions. The preacher asked everyone in the room to stand up who had come to the Lord after they had heard a Gospels message over th radio. It looked like 4 or 5 people stood up. The second question he asked was how many people had put their faith in Christ after they had watched a Gospel television show and no one in the room stood up. He then went on to the third questions and this was how many people had become Christians after they had heard a Gospel message at a church service and about 5 people or so stood up. The fourth and final question was how many people in the room came to the Lord after individual had spoke to them about becoming a Christian and 90 percent of the room stood up. I was absolutely amazed at the number of people standing up. 90 became Christians after they had spoke to an individual about the Lord. To give another point of how powerful a one to one witness is. Al asked 2 people in the audience if they could tell him three things that their pastor had mentioned in the service this past Sunday and neither could. He then asked us is we could remember back to before we were saved who spoke to us about Christ. I can remember at college a friend of mine witnessing to me and then about 2 years later another friend of mine telling me about Jesus. As a side note I hunted him down a few years ago on the phone and thanked him for sharing his faith with me, that encourages people. In the book of Acts over one hundred times preaching is mentioned in the book , only a very few of those are like the preaching we have in the modern church. The rest of the preaching mentioned in Acts were people preaching to the crowds and witnessing outside of the walls of the church. But I just thought that was absolutely fascinating number there and found it very encouraging for us as people who witness. Think about it most people in that room were lead to the Lord by a personal witness not by TV or radio or anything else. So think about that the next time you want to witness.

News from the front

This past week I had the opportunity to witness to a friend of mine who was in hospice and was dying from kidney and liver failure. I had spoke with some friends of mine before and had asked them to pray that I would get a chance to speak with my friend and that he would be able to understand me because he was in and out of consciousness. So I went into his room and waited for things to kind of cool down for a while so that I could get a chance to talk to him. I asked him,” Bub the last time I visited with you you had told me a few times that you did not want to die and I wanted to talk to you about that because it has been on my heart a lot.” I had thought a lot about it and wondered what do you say to man that is dying? How do you witness to someone who is dying? We have to witness to people the same way and in all situations and address the same problem with all people and that is sin! God does not guarantee any of us another day or a better life., more money in our bank account or any of these things. Scriptures usually say just the opposite such as we will face temptation, persecution etc. So this guy was going to die and this was on Tuesday so I said to him, and trust Him and He will save you. That is the way we should witness to all people. Repent and believe. We can promise them nothing past the cross. We are not guarantee another day. It is righteousness issue when we witness to the lost.

A sick friend

A friend of mine sent me an email and the message said to me that a friend of ours was in the hospital and that his liver and kidneys had stopped working and that were not giving him dialysis any more. In medical terms I believe that means he has a very very short time to live. It really broke my heart because for years I have been friends with this guy, I had shared my faith with once and he was dying. I had not seen this guy in a while. I went over to the hospice to pay him a visit and I was talking to him. He was in and out of consciousness the whole time I was there because he was on some heavy pain medications. He was very sick and swollen and bruised all over from his stay at the hospital and his body being overloaded with toxins. It just did not look like he had long to live. He told me that he wanted write a book about his life and the things he had not done. He said he wanted to call it, “An itch I cannot scratch.” He said he wanted to put more stuff into the book but he was not going to be able to because he was dying. You know a lot of us are going to be there one day. The Bible says that our lives are like a vapor, here today and gone tomorrow. You know this friend of mine was laying there on this bed and he wanted to do so many more things but he has run out of time, his time is up. As I looked at him I thought, you know I am going to be in the same position one day too. I might get in a car wreck or have a heart attack or die from cancer and I am going to have some itches that need some scratching. I am going to have things that I should have done for the Lord but did not. You know that would be a terrible thing because at that point there is nothing that a person can do about that, it is too late. I think sometimes that it is important that we take time and examine ourselves and make sure that we are doing all we can, where we can, and when we can for the Jesus Christ our Savior after all he has done for us. When that time comes for us, we won’t have to worry about asking ourselves that question have I fought the good fight have I finished the race. I hope this little reminder would make you think, Jesus let me do something else for you, don’t let me come to that point when I cannot do anything else and I have left so much undone. I would not like to see anyone go through that again. Maybe sometime we get so busy in our day to day lives having fun or entertaining ourselves or paying the next bill that we don’t say. ” Lord how can I serve you or honor you with my life?” I do not know about you but I have done this so many times. Ask yourself when your time comes are you going to have an itch to scratch?

Street Preachers

I was eating dinner with a friend of mine the other night and we were talking about street preachers. We were talking about how movies and television shows that portray a street preacher often show them as maniacs. A Lot of times the preacher is holding up a sign and preaching about armageddon. Almost every time you see it on television it seems to be the same stereotype. It usually some crazy guy standing on a street corner yelling at people telling them they are going to Hell and that the end of the world is right at hand. I noticed and thought it was very interesting that the TV shows seem to do that all the time. You never see some preacher on a TV show preaching the real Gospel or telling people they need to repent and put their faith in Christ. I wonder why that is? I got to thinking that one of the reasons might be that before the invention of the TV and radio that preaching on the street corners was one the best ways to reach people many preachers use to preach on the street corners. Back a few centuries ago it was a popular way to present the Gospel to many people at one time. Also Another reason that I believe is at the heart of the matter is that it might have been very effective and many people heard the Gospel but perhaps Satan has decided that he was going to make the street preachers look like buffoons to the point now whenever we see one of these people our first reaction is to say that this guy is crazy. But you know this might not be the case. Sometimes we have reexamine the way we look at things and say hey are these guys really effective by God’s standards. we should let our views on how to reach the lost be effected by our society. We would rather be a fool for Christ rather than being a person that goes along and tries to fit into the worldly system that we live in. So you know I think about that. in our lives are we trying to fit into the world or are we tying to be what Christ wants us to be? Is street preaching and witnessing an effective way to witness to people? We talk to people all the time. I was speaking to a guy this past Tuesday and he told me after the witness that he was very grateful because he knew he was going to Hell and that the Gospel was presented to him very clearly and that he knew that he needed to repent and put his faith in Christ. I did not come across as a crazy man, I was not holding a sign and telling everyone about armageddon. The guy shook my hand and then hugged me after we got through with the witness. That is very encouraging. That is not something you would see portrayed on TV.

New Years Eve

You know it always amazes me how God brings people into our lives to witness to. New Years Eve a bunch of us went to the Georgia Tech and LSU football game at the Georgia Dome to witness and hand out tracts. My friend Brian Lee had loaned me a speaker system for a while to use. I decided earlier to take it along incase we found any crowds we could fire up the speaker and preached the Gospel to them. The night went on and we handed out a lot of tracts. It was really really cold out there New Years Eve and naturally a guy who does not like the cold I was ready to find a warmer place. We were on the sidewalk right next to Phillips Arena. Now mind you the Tech LSU game had already started and we had planned on working only that game but then there was a concert that started about an hour later right next door. There was a huge line of people that were waiting trying to get into the concert before the doors opened up. There was like 500 to 1,000 people waiting in two lines trying to get into the concert. We cranked up the amp and we had a good chance to preach to A slew of people at one shot. It just blew me away because I have never had the opportunity to do that before. I was just amazed that God would bring that many people in front of us at one time. It was wonderful to be able to sit there and tell all those people about Christ. We got a lot of cat calls and people telling us to go home and stuff like that but that is fine people did even worse to the Apostles when they shared their faith. It was great that the name of Christ was lifted up in front of all those people.

Neil Diamond

It was a cold damp rainy night and we went to the Niel Diamond concert at Gwinnett Arena. I met up with Keith Higgins early on before the concert and we had a cup of coffee together and had some great time of fellowship. After the coffee we headed over to the concert and met up with Laura to hand out some tracts to the people going into the Niel Diamond concert. It was very interesting when we got to the concert the staff of the Gwinnett Arena had set aside a place where we could hand out tracts to folks as they went into the concert. It was a little area kind of off the beaten track. It was a little area about 10′ x 10′ it had little bricks around it and the staff said we would have to stay in this brick area in order to hand out tracts. Keith had fittingly named this area the penalty box which I though was very funny. What is ironic is that this is public facility and the place that they want free speech is off in the corners out of the way. It made me stop and think about things for a while. In our own lives we sometimes like to have a small area or penalty box where we like to put God in. We like to keep him segregated away from the flow of daily activities. How many times have we been guilty of doing this. Just as we would have like to have kicked Niel Diamond off the stage and preached to 10,000 people or so for a while. I think God is the same way He does not want us to put him in a little corners off the beaten path. Not just a little time on Sunday morning or a 5 minute devotional in the morning but all through our day and at the center at all times.

Mormons, Muslims, Hebrew Israelites, Jehovah Witnesses, Rasta Farinas and Hindus

We have been working Five Points for the last month or so and have had some awesome chances to witness to people. It is great place to talk to people and many many folks stop and speak with us. It always amazes me when I go down there that we see many different cults out trying to recruit people into their religion. We see Mormons, Muslims, Hebrew Israelites, Jehovah Witnesses, Rasta Farinas and Hindus. They are out there almost every time we go. I see a Muslim guy handing out Muslim propaganda almost every time we go. The guy is consistent. It is interesting to that many people take his literature as well. Some of these folks beat drums and chant to their god to try and get people to stop and listen. Some try to engage people in conversations and try to get the to come to their building of worship. You know the thing that strikes me is that these guys are doing all of this work, all of this talking, all of this singing and chanting and beating drums for A LIE!!. What they are offering is lie. Pure and simple. 1st Timothy 4:1 The Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons. These are religions that put together by demons. My friend once told me that he does not really want to hear about these religions because are not the truth. What really blows me away is that these cult members will spend their lives working hard for a lie where many Christians will not do anything for the Truth. That hurts and it is really a heart breaker. My hope and prayer is that more Christians realize that we are indeed in a spiritual war and we need to be about the Lord’s command of seeking and saving the lost.
