Eternal
Eternal
This past week I had the great opportunity to witness alongside PD and Sherman and Erin. These guys are great encouragers and really have a heart for reaching the lost. It is just a real privilege to be around them all. We had many good witnesses and handed out a great number of tracts to people. 5 Points as always was very busy and filled with people trying to get home from work. I had a great conversation with a Nation of Islam guy named Genius. I asked him to explain his religion to me because I did not really know much about it. I spoke with Genius for a while. One thing I will take away form conversation with him is how hard these guys work at being perfect. They don’t eat this and they don’t do that. I felt very sorry for this guy because he was on a religious treadmill. Our conversation was very depressing because this guy is working so hard for nothing. Genius believes that he can become perfect. I explained to him after a while that the more I look into God’s Law the more I see that my chances for becoming perfect are absolutely hopeless. I sure hope one day he sees it too and cries out for Jesus.
PD and I were chatting in between witnesses and we were think about how cool it that God uses us an a little piece of paper to reach out to someone with eternal consequences. I like many of you have a day job. It is pretty tough and can at times be very stressful. We work by the sweat of our brow. I get a paycheck for that work. I take it to the bank on Friday and cash it. I pay all my bills then I go back to work and the cycle start all over again. It make you feel like a hamster on exercise wheel. I think about the scripture that says store up for yourself treasures in heaven where moths cannot eat and thieves cannot break in and steal. God has given us all the work to store up for ourselves treasures in heaven. I think about those precious souls that read those tracts and repent. It has eternal consequences. I mean think about it. How great would it be to see some guy in heaven who says, “Hey you gave me this little tracts and God used it save me.” How cool would that be. Tracts have great eternal consequences.
